What about it do you not like, Pierre?

I think the best sounding PFM on CD is the original RCA series (that begin with catalog number ND, for Storia it is ND 74059). I have Per un Amico through Chocolate Kings in this format and am very happy with the sound. For Storia, I have the Sony/BMG version that I think you're referring to, catalog number 82876760302. I've been told that this version is a simple reissue of the original RCA, but I can't verify that right now. I do think this version of Storia sounds better than the other two I've heard, which are the BMG Japanese mini lp (though you can't beat that packaging!) and the gold disc digipack.

In comparing the RCA Per un Amico and the BMG Storia, I think the Per un Amico has Storia beat as far as sound goes, though I think after the first track Storia sounds pretty darn good. So I don't know if it's a Storia thing, or if this version isn't as good. I haven't heard the Japanese Crime versions, and those are often the best sounding versions out there IMO. I'll contact a friend of mine who has it and ask him. I'll let you know!

Dave, I listen to that first Biglietto album pretty often, and it still floors me as much these days as it did when I first heard it so many years ago! Such a ragged and ferocious ride, my friend!

I still need to look into Sagi's recommendation of their more recent folk `reinterpretations' album - sounds like such a risk, but fascinating!

I like the fact that it sounds like it was recorded inside a broom cupboard.
Because of this, the synths take on another sound altogether. I love the 'difference' there is between those raw uncouth drums n guitars and the sound of the mini-moog!

Thanks Todd. I Love that one and I was almost ready for an expensive King Record Version. Hope for a good remastering soon of both first albums.
Maybe I'll go for the Storia 's King records edition, less expensive ?

Michael are you familiar with Il Tempo Della Semina ?
I have it for a few weeks now but just listened to it for the first time today. I know it has negative reviews, but you know what? It's not bad at all!
I think it's one of those albums that a better production would make a really big difference. Anyway not good as their debut or their folk album, but not bad, I'm happy with it after one spin.

I agree Sag. Sometimes it sounds unfinished, but what's really completed on earth ? Smoke

Iraklis. Very good album Pierre!

I have that one on vinyl, they mix a little bit of everything, prog, folk, psychedelic, quite interesting. I remember them being suggested some time ago, I wonder what came out of it...

Before I went to work I found this album uploaded on Youtube, I'll give it a spin when I'm home, my friend! Considering how much I love their first album, I'm suprised I haven't looked into either of those other two studios albums yet...and according to the Archives there's a live album from them too!

I will report back very soon how I go!

I didn't know it was reissued on cd when I bought it, all I saw was vinyls. Cool!

I know they have other albums and they also added something to their band name.

The CD version is a CDR created by the band.

Here's a gem that Luca (octopus-4) introduced me to. This is Gian Piero Alloisio (from Assemblea Musicale Teatrale) singing the song "Il Dilemma", written by Giorgio Gaber. Enjoy! I think Pierre will especially enjoy this. And if you like it, you'll love it when you look up and translate the lyrics--truly gorgeous and sublime.

(There are several other Alloisio videos posted on this YouTube channel from the same concert, with several Assemblea Musicale Teatrale songs, if you're interested.)

Edit:
Pierre, here's a link of the artist Gaber singing "Il Dilemma" with French subtitles:
