On to something other than Barry now.

Buccos drop first two to the Cardinals. Making them look like WS Champions although Carpenter didn't shut them down. Surprising.

Yanks win 3 straight against the Sahx.
Well, disregard that first one....Smoltz was BAAD.
But yesterday CC was beast.

7 and 2/3, 2 hits, no runs. I think it was 13 strikeouts. I was hopeful but skeptical, but CC is worth his weight in money. And that's a lot of weight...

Swept by the Cardinals. Talk about failing at being a spoiler. I think that Matt Capps needs to be taking out for awhile. He is horrid.

::breaks out the broom:: Yanks Sweep! Down 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th the Yanks get back-to-back HR's from Damon and Teixeira to take the lead. End up winning 5-2. Clap

Yeah, a FOUR GAME sweep.
Kind of surprising, but not that much.
I mean the teams have done a 180 since the all star break. The Yanks are running on all cylinders, (FINALLY) while the Sahx seem to be imploding. I understand injuries can not be helped but what an offensive slump!

Just come over to the dark side of the Yankees man!
Sure you will take flak from people, but being part of the evil empire is good.
They win alot and you can at least boast about 26 titles and no one can really say anything!

I have all the respect and admiration for the Yanks. Great franchise with a storied history of the greats of the game. The Buccos have a nicer ballpark though with fan friendly ticket pricing and I can get Pirate swag for dirt cheap as well and be the envy of all my brothers in the hood.

Well  I give you a lot of credit. Very few people I've met...EVER who are non-yankee fans have said that.
Thank you sir.

On that note......the Yanks had a slight falter yesterday but their pwnage has resumed!

The Tigers snuck out a 2-0 win over the Red Sox at Fenway so can leave on a bit of a high note after having their butts handed to them the first 3 games of the series.  Now they can come home and play the Royals.  Unfortunately, Game 1 they will be facing Greinke, although at least he has been human in his most recent starts.

And the pwnage continues!
Yanks win 11-1 over the mariners.
CC was beast.

You've already been rebuilding for what 15 years? What's another 25 right?

I'm already enjoying the benefits of the latest Pittsburgh firesale. My folks picked me up some really good but cheap seats for games against the Dodgers, Phillies, and Cards.

I knew you would say that LOL
So true though.

And I am amazed at Ichiro....the guy played like 10 years in Japan before he came here and yet is still on the verge of getting 2000 hits in MLB. 2000 hits in 8 years!? And I can see why...not only can he hit anything, but he's so f*cking fast. I just say him put a decent hit on it, but one where the out is almost always made at first...Suzuki took off so fast by the time Jeter was about to make the throw he was there already.

Yeah! The Buccos avoided a sweep by getting rained out.
