Spot on with that, it just mucks up the debate, it's about insurance, but insurance is how you get care.

If this law goes into full effect, I predict we will see the actual cost of health care (doctor's fees, hospital costs, etc.) increase.  I also predict insurance premiums and deductibles will increase-
insurance companies have to make a profit.

You're not thinking like a Democrat here.

This is why I support single payer health insurance.

It's not perfect, but I'll take it rather than have it be killed outright and have Republicans think that gives them the right to ignore the outrageous cost of health care here. Sooner or later we have to catch up to other civilized countries, better though a misstep than wait another x amount of years for something equally flawed to barely pass.

In case everyone hasn't realized, I'm not really very libertarian. On some things yes, but though the private sector has recently provided us in the US with a lot to burn money on, it's time we even things out socially. Yes, through more taxes. Hopefully minimizing bureaucracy expansion. Still, when the US lags in education, affordability of health care, and health overall, it's really time we shift our focus to actually making the nation better to live in.

2 cents. Take it or leave it.

Slarti and others, you probably have the answer to this probably stupid question. Honestly, I haven't read the entire Obamacare law so my girlfriend was asking me:

If someone doesn't have insurance, one is fined. So people who make little money a year and can't afford, how will they pay?

Now another question, very similar: let's have one of the millions of Americans with low, though not Medicaid-low, incomes. They can't afford insurance. They are heavily fined. Are they getting insurance after all by the government, even if they are fined? Because if not, this poor person is being screwed over twice: not only does he have no insurance, and of top of that they're taking up to 700$ from him. Explain how this persn benefits from the new law. Honestly, Imm not being sarcastic, I haven't read the law. Maybe I don't know much?

A person who did not have health insurance will face a $95 fine at tax time (or 1% of their income to be increased to 2.5% later).

There is a system in place for those who cannot afford health insurance.  The poor won't be fined. Not directly, anyway.

While the health care ruling is indeed horrible, we should be happy that they got the Stolen Valor Act right/ See my op-ed on the subject:

The article is titled "Two women busted for 'exposing their sexual organs' on golf course". But when I read it, all it said was they lifted their shirts up.Confused So where does the 'sexual organs' part come in?

I don't mean anything bad by your article, but I enjoyed the comments more. I love people who think that permission = promotion.

I was particularly entertained by the unintelligible COWBOYCOP. I wonder whether he is an enforcer of cowboy law or a regular cop who just happens to be a cowboy as well.

Drudge headline says: Proof of God Particle Found

Ugh I hate science reporting. There's no proof. There's no God particle yet.

The headline now reads "Evidence of God Particle Found".

I'll take full credit for that change.

EDIT: Actually, the article itself always read that headline. I was just insulting the liberties DrugeReport takes with its headlines.

The article itself is bad though. The reporter opens by saying that enough evidence exists to say the Boson almost definitely exists. The resarches quoted themselves say, quite correctly, that they're not ready to conclude that fact. Their results are only within 2.9 sigma. That's nothing besides a curiosity at this point.

Yahoo's headline on the same topic is "Scientists Say Proof of God Particle Found".  (We really need a facepalm emoticon).

I'm waiting for the headline: "Particle Scientists say Proof of God Found."
