The self-titled debut is a very short album. If I don't like it, it's not much time spent listening to something I didn't like.

Nope. It's a good decision. He's exploring new music. He then can decide one or the other whether he likes or dislikes them. However, I would suggest he tries more than just one album by them. I also think he should try some Present too whilst he's at it. He likes some Henry Cow, so I believe he may appreciate some Univers Zéro. We'll see. Is it afternoon yet?
