Just checked Wikipedia and seems both Porl and Simon are on this new one. I may have to get it.

Also, I went to one of my CD stores today and asked about Soft Machine's Third album.  They didn't have it in stock.  However, I was in luck and found it for a good price on Ebay tonight, so it will hopefully be in my possession this week.

No i can't believe it!!LOLLOLWink..............but i think there are a few songs from them you have heard here and there, you just don't know they're from UFO

I just treat myself this week with 5 mini-LP UFO cds...the ones with michael Schenker!!! good 70s hard rock!!

A certain someone in this thread said that Third was a must have CD so what the heck, I might as well give it a shot.

Oh, you have a lot of certain someones here who will tell you the same thing......it's a pillar of prog but not mainstream like Yes, PF or other Genesis.
But i noticed you bought National Health lately, that's getting there for sureLOL....but THIRD is beyond thatWink

You have 4 suites circa 20mns long each, one with vocals from Robert Wyatt, the unique one of a kind beautiful Moon In June which is highly beloved in these circles!!

I'm not too keen on Robert Wyatt's voice on Rock Bottom, so that might be an issue, but I really do want to hear Moon in June.

"Truth.  You can't handle the truth."  Trust me, my vocal impersonation is even worse than my typed impersonation.

I see that some nice tunes are currently playing in Oceania.

Good idea! I'm going to get in on some of that action

It's great, isn't it? I felt hypnotized halfway through Moon In June, but that could also be because I'm half awake. Heh.

I don't know if you will have the same reaction, Scott!!!...hopefully!

And Moon in June may simply be my favorite song ever.

I'm currently practicing so I can play the organ and sing it at the same time.

Another one who seems to like it, Scott!!Smile

Are you sure that those are UFOs and not just the space shuttle taking off from Cape Canaveral?

Speaking of extraterrestrial occurrences, they were saying on the news this week that both Venus and Jupiter are clearly visible in the sky this week, and I guess at a certain point both of these and the moon will be in alignment.

Yes, Third was quite the enjoyable album. However, Wyatt's vocals seemed different on Rock Bottom, so I wouldn't worry too much about that being an issue.
