Plug-in Baby is a great tune.  One of my favourites by Muse.

That it is. Citizen Erased is their best, better than 95% of DT's songs probably.

I used to only like a few, but it's really grown on me. I like them all now. Big smile

Prophets of War is the best, followed by Ministry of Lost Souls.

So I take it you're a Muse fan Wink
Ministry is actually the best thing they've done in years in my opinion.

I'm a Muse fan.
And I thought all the Muse like songs DT have done are just some of the worst songs they have ever written quite frankly.
There is that Muse type song from Octavarium, so boring to listen to and Prophets of War was just a terrible song in general IMO.

If I want Muse, I'll listen to Muse, not Dream Theater's attempt at Muse.

That is a good song, but it's not my favorite. I prefer Space Dementia.

I'm a Muse fan too, but I don't see it that way. If you see it as Dream Theater's attempt at Muse, you will inevitably be disappointed. If you take it as a Dream Theater song or come into it with no preconceptions, they're heavily enjoyable songs (particularly Prophets). I like Never Enough too, but it's not quite as good.

I do hear some Muse influence, but it would easily be my favorite Muse song, since it beats anything they've written, IMO. LOL

It definitely has a DT edge to it. I do like Muse though.

And yes, Ministry is one of the best things they've ever written. It's great! Petrucci is so emotional.

Ministry is not bad, but I barely listen to it nowadays.
Petrucci is good too, but I honestly always wish they had gotten some other guitar player from the start.

The French lyrics on this album which make little sense to me, make more sense to me than any DT lyrics. LOL

Muse influenced or not, I just think PoW is a crap song to be honest.

I know people who dislike Muse 'cause they think they're trying to be Radiohead and Jeff Buckley.  What?!

Mardi, 14h30

Le ciel bleu-gris de l'après-midi (not even sure)
Je mets les pieds un par un.
Devant la vie,
Devant l'autre.

Poches autour des mains, (probably not actually)
Poches aux yeux.
De n'avoir pas eu ma nuit.
Pas dormi,
Dans un bon lit.

(inaudible people speaking in the back)

(I can only barely understand a few words during the chanting part.)

Girl 2 : Non.
(Then a lot of people come in and it's inaudible.)

Librairie ouverte! Librairie!
x2

LAAAAALALALA
Je ne peux pas te laisser (?)

Juste sous ma main,
un rayon (inaudible word here)

Ok, now that was hard. I started with the longest track. It's actually hard to understand event though I'm french. I may be wrong at a couple places there.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Often the music is more important than the lyrics, in my opinion.

No problem. I'll do the rest sometimes later.

I don't think I'll translate cause it'll make you think the album is stupid. LOL

No, I didn't mean it that way.
His solos fit the musical context, but I mean, someone who you can tell it's him playing after a few phrases, and Petrucci quite frankly, doesn't sound that unique compared to say, Steve Vai or even Steve Hackett, both those 2 guys have a more easily recognizable and unique playing style.
I guess it's harder to see what I'm saying when you don't play guitar though.
