I love IndyCar, been following since the CART days when Montoya won his title. Unfortunately, unless you want to pay that sh*t Rupert Murdoch a load of money you can't watch the series here in the UK. I was glad to see Justin Wilson score his first oval win, I've been a fan of the "Flying Giraffe" since he won the F3000 title back in 2001.

Then on the restart, it started to ran in a couple of spots on the track, causing multiple accidents. The only thing that went right for anyone was that Scott Dixon lead every lap.

Yes it was quite the dibacal, and unfortunate for me as I turned in just as the racetrack was vomitting itself up. The last little shootout thing was fairly interesting though, esp with the rain.

Yeah its on the Sky Sports F1 channel over here, which is HD only (ironic given that F1 isn't shown in HD) and costs quite a bit to subscribe to. I dont see the point in subscribing monthly to watch F1 as through December, January, February, and this year August, you get absolutley nothing for your money.

Perez too.  To start in 15th and to finish 3rd is a great result and a great use of the one-stop strategy that failed so badly for Alonso and Vettell (not the same extent as he came in toward the end).  I like Kobayashi but Perez is the better and more-rounded driver.  He'll be going to Ferrari in the future, I think.  Which is a shame for me, as I'm not that huge a fan of Ferrari.  I wish he'd join McLaren or even stay at Sauber and prove he can win a championship for a team not in the top 3.

I'd love to see that.  It won't happen this season but who knows?

Cool to read that. As you can imagine here in Mexico we are really happy with Perez podium and his great drive in the whole season. He has a bright future, and we also dream to see him in a Ferrari or a McLaren...however, he has to demonstrate he can be Sauber's #1 driver first (and he is doing it).
I thought he was a shoe-in to replace Massa either after this or maybe next season.

That sure seems to be the case.

As for Indy I've been getting back into it this year. I've been slacking the last few : (

^ It's kind of a tradition thing with my family, going to Indy. I have cousins on my dad's side that live in Coatesville, which is about an hour and a half from Indianapolis, and my dad and them have been going since 68, and haven't missed one year.Headbanger

Also What are you guys thoughts on the new Indy Car? I like it, seems most people think it looks like crap though. It undeniably puts more focus on driver skill.

I like it. IndyCar really did need a replacement for the 8 year old Dallara they used to have and I'm glad some one has tried to address the problem of single seaters going airborne when they lock wheels. By all accounts its producing some good racing as well.

Same here. I watched Indycar when I could. Not paying for Sky Sports. Already Cricket has been robbed from me. Of course with the F1 it's trying to avoid the news before we get the re run. Canada was one of the best races this season though. Monaco the worst.

Well that's pretty sweat. I'm a pretty far from Indy but it'd certainly be something to see one day.
Speaking of which, cool that Will Power still leads but I see Dario creeping up the standings!

Audi on poll for Le Mans, pretty stunning lap from Andre Lotterer, one of last years winning trio, to put the #1 up front with a 3:23, 2 seconds faster than last year. Top Toyota starts 3rd.

Enormous crash for Anthony Davidson's Toyota just at hour 5 of Le Mans. Ferrari moves over on him at the braking for the Mulsane corner and Ant goes airborne and lands on it's wheels before hitting the barriers hard. The Ferrari slid into the barriers and ended up upside down.

Medical car is currently out there with a streture for Ant.

A real shame as I'd just been watching the lead Toyota and the #1 Audi swapping places back and forth for the lead.

EDIT: Ant seems fine, apparently he tried to get the car going again before giving up and submitting to the medical teams ministrations, taken to the medical centre for precationary checkups.

Still cant get embedded videos sorted out, I must be doing something wrong.Ouch

^Thanks.

Those shark fins and the holes above the wheels in  the bodywork are supposed to stop the cars going airborne but it doesnt look like they've worked.

Damn. Tough crash.

As per usual, got home way too late last night and awoke quite far into the race. Hopefully be able to catch some now though.

Sadley Nakajima has had to bring the remaining Toyota in to the garage for repaires, so it looks like it'll end up as a battle between the two Audi R18 e-tron quattros.

Toyota's done at 1:40am. Not a surprise, they werent expecting to get to the finish this year and weren't originally going to run two cars until Peugeot pulled out and the ACO and the FIA begged them to step up there involvment this year.

If I remember only two things from this years race, it will be Davidson's scary crash, and that a few minutes before that Nicolas Lapier made an absolute banzai move on the grass to take the lead from last years winning crew.

Heard at first Davidson was fine, but official report is now that he has back fractures.
Not news you want to hear but supposedly it's not so bad and he'll be fine.
