Thanks Richard. I'll definitely need to revise my TD Top 10 after I've listened to Paradiso (2006): the third album in the Dante's Divine Comedy trilogy. Thumbs Up

5 stars 1911: L'Inferno (soundtrack) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4onvvd8D3U

L'Inferno is the soundtrack to the 1911 silent movie, which features music from the 2002 Tangerine Dream album: Inferno. Obviously, the 5-star rating is for the superb soundtrack and not for the ancient 111-year-old movie.  Inferno was regarded as something of a classic at the time though when "talkies" were still 16 years away in the future with the release of The Jazz Singer in 1927 starring Al Jolson, who I discovered recently was actually white! Shocked

2 stars 2004: Aachen - January 21st 1981 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7MuHodEceI

"Aachen 1981"  is Tangerine Dream's 14th Live album and their 79th album overall, recorded by the classic TD trio of Froese, Franke & Schmoelling. This is the first in the series of Bootmoon albums and as the title suggests, it's a bootleg recording, so don't set your expectations too high regarding the dubious sound quality of this album. The music has a repetitive, hypnotic quality, so at least it'll help you get to sleep at night, even if it hardly sets your heart aflutter with excitement. Sorry to be a sauerkraut, but this is the kind of Tangerine Dream album that would qualify as being "For Collectors Only", although it's a double album, so at least you get more music for your money. Smile

4 stars 2004: Montreal - April 9th 1977 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRRygHCaU9I

"Montreal 1977" is Tangerine Dream's 15th Live album and their 80th album overall. This is the second bootleg recording in The Bootmoon Series, and again, the quality isn't brilliant, but it's a definite improvement over the previous Bootmoon album and it's good to hear the classic TD trio of Franke, Froese & Baumann again, AND, it's all original material AND it's another double album too! Thumbs Up

4 stars 2004: Paris - February 2nd 1981 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sM-wA0QzQ0

"Paris 1981" is Tangerine Dream's third album in The Bootmoon Series, their 16th Live album and the 81st album overall. This bootleg recording has the same track listing as the "Aachen 1981" concert (Bootmoon 1) recorded just 12 days earlier, the main difference being that "Paris 1981" has far superior sound quality (with no  audience chatter in the background), so you'd be better off skipping the Bootmoon 1 recording altogether and listening to this new and improved version instead. The track listing may be the same, but the difference between the Paris and Aachen (Gesundheit!) recordings is not to be sneezed at.  Tongue

Paris 1981 indeed sounds better and is essentially the same setlist, peaking with "Silver Scale/Horns of Doom."

For those who must know, yes, the penultimate track was what became "Choronzon," if truncated, months later on Exit. (The version here is about a minute shorter than the one on Aachen 1981.)

I’m listening to Zeit out of the box set The Pink Years Albums 1970-1973 features four iconic albums from Tangerine Dream imho.

It already seems like a long time ago since I listened to Tangerine Dream's first four albums on this thread. Smile

4 stars 2004: Sydney - February 22nd 1982 - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_k8T9XIQWIZCM6wDwYz3e9AwpDCRg__G_o

G'day sport! "Sydney 1982" is the fourth album in The Bootmoon Series, the 17th Live album and Tangerine Dream's 82nd album overall. This album has the best sound quality so far of the bootleg recordings, making this an album to savour as you gaze at the majestic Ayers Rock, but watch out for the 'roos! Tongue

3 stars 2004: Ottawa - June 20th 1986

It's time to wrap up warm for "Ottawa 1986": the fifth album in The Bootmoon Series, the 18th Live album and Tangerine Dream's 83rd album overall. The video below is the only YouTube video currently available from this concert in The Great White North of Canada, so there's not much to warm your heart here. Brrrr! Unhappy

No, but I do own the two Virgin Boxsets with 12 classic albums on eight discs. Big smile

4 stars  2004: East - Berlin 1990

It's all aboard the Marakesh express for "East - Berlin 1990": the second album in The Vault Series (following on from Rockface), the 19th Live album and Tangerine Dream's 84th album overall. Sadly, the video below is the only video currently available on YouTube from the East album, but it's a very high quality recording for a Live album. This 1990 concert marked the first appearance of Jerome Froese in a live show as well as being the first concert by a West German band performing in former East Berlin, following the fall of the Berlin Wall the previous year. It's just a pity we don't get to see lovely Linda Spa dressed as an East German border guard again.  Tongue

5 stars 2004: Arizona Live 1992 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WECaGWBvRQM

Arizona Live is the third album in The Vault Series, the 20th Live album and Tangerine Dream's 85th album overall. The concert was recorded at the Scottsdale Mall Amphitheatre (near Phoenix) and features the 4-piece line-up of Edgar and Jerome Froese, Linda Spa on sax and Zlatko Perica on guitar. This is one of Tangerine Dream's best Live performances and definitely not to be missed, featuring some simply sublime sax solos from lovely Lady Linda. I'd tightrope walk across the Grand Canyon just to hear the sound of Linda Spa's sax. Heart

4 stars 2005: Cleveland - June 24th 1986 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7BZHhCq-S0

"Cleveland 1986" is the sixth album in The Bootmoon Series and also the fourth album in The Vault Series. Confusing? Yes, but numbering the albums is about to get even more complicated as we delve ever deeper into Tangerine Dream's HUGE discography. "Cleveland 1986" is Tangerine Dream's 21st Live album and their 86th album overall. It's another double album with a high standard of recording quality, as with all of the superb Live albums in The Vault Series. Thumbs Up

4 stars 2005: Brighton - March 25th 1986 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yw-5UZeb_Tk

"Brighton 1986" is the seventh album in The Bootmoon Series and also the fourth album in The Vault Series (alongside "Cleveland '86"). This is Tangerine Dream's 22nd Live album and their 87th album overall, and as we've come to expect from The Vault Series, the sound quality is just as good as a studio recording. Thumbs Up

Terrific. Same.

I have to say the ‘In Search of Hades” 18 disc set is the better of the two. It may very be my most loved and treasured boxset in my entire collection and I’ve got some good ones dammit. Lol.

Anyhow. How did you enjoy the 5.1 mixes of Ricochet and Phaedra ?
Steven Wilson once again did a great job.
