I wonder if this cleric, Zamzami Abdul Bari, is not simply "trolling".
Anyone saying necrophilia and pregnant women drinking alcohol is permisible would be looked as nuts. A muslim cleric saying the same things must look even nuttier.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

I wouldn't consider that law a good thing.

Ok, why?

...other than all laws are bad, market should let businesses demand anything they want blah blah blah.

I believe that an employer can put any condition upon accepting employment just as an employee can place any conditions upon accepting employment. I think businesses shouldn't do the practice, but I see no reason to enforce it by law.

^I also believe that. But having said that, it's nice to see one law where the concern of evey day people is put above that one of arguably more powerful ones.

^It's a buyers market, when you've got 50+ applicants for every vacancy you can be as draconian as you want in your T's and C's and you'll get away with it because there will always be someone desperate enough for employment to sign up to it - and that will always be the way. Very few people are privileged enough to be able to pick and choose where they work so they can walk away from a job offer if they object to their personal space is being invaded (or whatever we want to call corporate intrusion into out-of-office-hours private lives).

Employers will never do the "right thing" through choice if it servers them better not to, just as employees will never do the "right thing" through choice unless there is some gain in it for them.

The sad fact is, many companies engage in social engineering of the worst sort, far worse than anything the government can dream up. Here (U.S.) many won't hire smokers (I'm no longer one by the way, so I've got not dog in the fight). They cost too much in terms of absentee days and health costs. Next up, women of child-bearing age, who are notorious consumers of absentee days, family leave, and health care costs (and bring along a new one with them to boot!, which just perpetuates the cycle). We don't even need to mention homosexuals and AIDS and partner benefits and so on. Eh, send it all overseas, where there are none of these pesky regulations. Eh, what's a little Bhopal in the grand scheme of things.

Next up, those of us who didn't die before we got old.

I should add, for my last job, I underwent a DMV check, and FBI database check, and a credit check, and who knows what other nefarious databases they look at, just so they could make sure I was a reasonable type person. I was hired, for in spite of growing up in the '60s, I've always kept a clean house. Az Pynchon sez, just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. Truer words were never spoken, not these days.

I read in my local paper that some moron billionaire in Australia with more brains than money is building a replica of the Titanic. Hope this tub hits a reef on it's maiden voyage and sinks and all the idiots who  survive the sinking are eaten alive by great white sharks..

How many people could you could you feed with the money it's going to build this piece of junk?

Couldn't find a link on the web.

Any condition? Seriously?

Sure. That's exactly what occurs in the porn industry is it not?

Good luck with trying to get a porn actress to handover her Facebook password though.
