Every waking moment of my day is spent anticipating The Dear Hunter Act III. Listening to mostly 20th century composers lately, Ligeti, Partch, Xenakis, and Adams especially.

Well not to much post rock for me... been into bands like Dredg, All Shall Perish, Interpol, Oceana, Hábitat, Deftones, etc. Last post rock album I heard was Long Distance Calling's Avoid The Light. Still waiting for new The Postman Syndrome.

As far as posty stuff goes, I've been listening to Dirty Three's Horse Stories regularly and I'm excited to hear the new Isis when it comes in the mail within the next few days. Other than that there isn't much new stuff I've been listening to. I've been listening to a lot of electronic music and indie/experimental rock stuff lately. And Converge.

I'm with you guys, as far as post rock goes, just a bunch of Mogwai. I've been listening to a bunch of metal, and I'm finally getting into Cult of Luna's the Beyond.
Since my computer crash I havent been able to download any music, so I havent heard anything new since Mastodon's or Isis' newest.

Well... they are but according to them TPS never broke up. After Terraforming was released they started working on the second album before becoming DWD(now Biclops) which never got finished. They plan to release the new Biclops and finish up that second TPS album this year. |

Yea, The Beyond is quite good after all.
There are a lot of new albums on the way from some great bands, but none of them have anything to do with post, at least none of the ones that I'm thinking of. Oh wait, we got a new Tortoise coming at the end of June and a new Minsk at the end of this month. w00t.

surprised there isn't much Isis talk lately, their newest one is really good and should make fans who were disappointed with the last album's sound happy as it's more akin to the previous two albums, although a little more keyboard oriented

^ Hey! Where have you been?
Anyways, this is an Isis fan who's disappointed with the sound of the new album. It's like 10,000 Days all over again. I think, that they're possibly hanging out with Adam Jones a bit too much.
Lots of "The Shy Trafficker", and a pretty cool band that a certain blog pointed me towards named "Le Noise". Edited by Dominic - May 06 2009 at 21:28 |

I Freakin love the new album! Isis really pulled it together! I dont think it sounds like 10000 days at all. The mixing really does the trick with such lush atmospher's, and the riffing is excellent as well.
