Man sues movie theater for high snack prices.

The case will absolutely be thrown out of court, but this still infuriates me. If the cost of candy at a theater bothers you, how about you stop paying $15 to stuff your face with half a gallon of coke and case of goobers that you don't need. It's one thing if you complain about the price of necessary goods, but to cry and cry about how theaters are gorging you because of amenities you shouldn't be consuming anyway is ridiculous. I don't feel sorry for you. I wish I had a theater so I could charge you $20 for a small popcorn and watch a moron like you probably still buy it because you've been told you must eat the dry disgusting popcorn at a movie theater.

That woman looks like she should be on a weight watchers diet. If I was that fat I'd be spending more time at the Ggym rather than the movie theatre.

You know that sounds like just the thing a Nazi would say. Tongue

It is actually possible to make it through a movie without an over-sized jug of Coke and a big ass popcorn.  Movie theaters are in trouble and don't charge ridiculous prices on concessions just for the fun of it.  It's been years now since I've gone out to the movies but the last time I think we did get a "small" C & P. LOL  I think it was the Star Trek movie.  Just checked, that would have been mid 2009.

Movie theaters do not make money on movies....they make it on concessions.....just eat healthy before you go and do not play into the high prices

The thing that keeps us away from going out to the movies isn't the high price of concessions or the sticky floors it's the quality of the movies themselves.  Knowing that they make money off the concessions, we'll buy something,   Kind of like tipping.

I sincerely doubt that anymore that .001% of the movie going population buys concessions because they want the theater to make money.

My point is that we'll buy a little overpriced crap on the rare occasions that we do go out.  Not much mind you.  A few will survive, but their day is over.

Popcorn is a pretty unpleasant snack at the best of times if truth be told, that we only consume the damn stuff in the dark of a cinema when there is precious little choice of anything else should tell you something. And while we're on the subject of cineplex fine-dining, why the hell did we import from the USofA the dumb idea of eating nachos covered luke-warm orange snot that claims to be some form of cheese derivative covered with a paltry smattering of soft and tasteless jalapeņos, when the import of drowned hot-dogs doused with indeterminate yellow & red nose-dribble in a stale bun had already proved that concession staff would struggle to gain employment in a sub-standard McDs?

Other than that, a gallon of ice with a tablespoon of homeopathic coca-cola, what more could you ask for?

Have you ever tried asking for a coke without ice? It can't be done apparently.

For some reason theater nachos remind me of the Zappa song about where the torture never stops.  I think I tried them once for the sake of the inner masochist in me. LOL  Oh for the love of God, please have some pickled jalapeno slices available.  Oh the humanity, the jumanity!!!! Tongue

Every try ordering a coke from a place that serves Pepsi or another cola product? Never a better example of the brutality of trademark enforcement (might not be that way in the UK).

Yeah, we get that too. Pain in the butt, especially when the same resturant will happily serve you a Waldorf Salad with no sense of irony whatsoever.
What?

I guess the Waldorf Hotel doesn't send around undercover agents and threaten restaurants with legal action for breach of trademark.

The International House Of Pancakes has a Lorax breakfast special with green eggs and ham.  Wrong on so many levels. Dead
