I do not listen to your show as much as I used to ... between health and hours that do not fit with my being, I have missed a lot more these days than I have in the past ... even my recording of shows for whatever posterity of non-sense, and un-necessary materials, has died down ... I ended up feeling like I was recording things simply because I wanted all the music I did not have in my collection, and in reality ... I can specify that for me, since that time, it has been about the experience of the flow of all the music and the fact that the show, after all these years, is STILL the most non-commercial of all the shows ... and the artistry involved is insane and out of the general ballpark. 

I took some time to listen to various other shows to see what some folks were doing ... and it was disappointing. One show was KCtwo. Another was cheesy FMthree. Another wanted to make sure you "knew" the piece of music and where it came from. And above all, within these ... they all were playing small pieces and had a format that was just like the commercially minded radio these days. None of those shows I hear ... 7 in all ... had much in the area of creativity and talent for the presentation of the music and this saddened me a lot ... a lot of it felt cold, and just thrown in together for the sake of some "progressive" ideal in heck specifically defined to showcase "their music".

I never felt that I owned any of the art ... I merely experienced it and lived and died with it. It was all that was important for me ... and this is still the case, and in many ways, Guy's show, to this day is still an experience, and while in these days it seems to me a bit more "commercial", in the end, it isn't ... and his incredible mix of all things music from the last 70 years and then some ... is something that no one else has done, or is capable of doing. 

In so many ways, showing that "difference" in all those years shows how "progressive" the whole idea of music was in this lifetime of mine ... and that's what the term means to me ... not some bizarre ideal with a blue guitar and a solo and some other bullmerde from a definition that hated music and thought that what rock music brought to the stage was what the music was all about ... forget the rest! You are now an automaton, not an artist.

So, ... if I have not said so before ... thanks Guy ... you one of the unique ones out there, and hopefully you can carry on for a while more ... and I might be there to hear some of it ... I still find more "new music" thru your show than I do via PA or anywhere else ... mainly because it is not a copy of the same thing and style that continues to control so much of these things.

With much love, and care ... I have to get me some breakfast and then a nap ... it's a new day ... and it's time for new ... something ... a dream in the stratosferic fear of our lives ... a strange "hope" for something else ... a memory of a lot of special moments in my life ... in many ways gone ... though the show still brings up new moments ... with the choices and presentation.

You know what I miss the most? Lawrence defending his works. That composer trying hard to do something when drunk. That poet creating some words, and being told they don't fit. Somehow, they seem to conflict and confuse some audiences ... comedy with progressive music? ... what a joke! ... but in the end, it has become the ultimate intro to something else, and as such, these moments have been far out ... and only one is missing that I can not find right now ... that show within a show within a show with Daevid Allen's album ... where have my friends gone?

Have a good morning and day ... this new gringo here (yep Guy, no longer a foreigner!) ... wants another dream ... one more dream ... and yet another dream ... and I have to say that for a long time, your show was the only dream I have EVER needed and wanted.
