I much prefer Coldplay. Especially their most recent one. Adele was never my cup of tea but now she is my cup of arsenic.

I think Patrick Bateman from American Psycho said it best when he said that Collins' "worked best within the confines of a group". While I can't stand most of his solo work ("In The Air Tonight" being one of the more obvious exceptions), the work he did with post-Gabriel Genesis wasn't that bad, at least form the stuff I heard.
He looks at this world and wants it all... so he strikes, like Thunderball!
