That one sounds perfectly acurate.
However, since Portnoy has been mentioned several times, what about the Transatlantic rhythm section? Portnoy and Trewavas...

Who would you pick as your bass player and drummer? |
Bass: Tony Levin, I guess, even though I don't think he's really a good fit, stylistically speaking. (As much as I like Billy Sherwood, I don't see that happening.)
Drums: Deen Castronovo, currently with Journey. He can play, and he's got a great voice. He's certainly bombastic enough for Yes.

And what would you name your band's lineup? |
CRAWL: Castronovo Rabin Anderson Wakeman Levin |
On second thought, how about Bryan Beller and Marco Minnemann from The Aristocrats? Then the band could be called...
Yes, we did steal our rhythm section from The Aristocrats.

Wake+Howe and the Mars Volta, that would be interesting (they need the extra guitar live) and i think Wakemann would be an interesting addition to their music
Could call it : The Mars Volta

John Pattitucci on bass and Vinnie Colaiuta on drums! (maybe a bit too jazzy?)

Yeah ... that's good.
Though I really think that if one wants a bass player, I would probably start with Don Schiff ... who is by far one of the better Stick players out there ... Levin is not that great a Stick player at all! Don, in many of his shows and work with the Rocket Scientists, has done some magnificent bass work ... that unffortunately is not being heard or appreciated.
Don with Christian? ... massive!!!!! Absolutely massive!
