You really should change the name, if it's not too late.

You should change NOTHING! Change is bad.

I don't know what I'm going to do when this poll is over. I've spent the past year looking forward to the next installment. Once it's gone, what will there be for me on ProgArchives anymore?

This is a complete absurd to me. King Crimson is one of the most overrated progressive bands and should never be among the 2 best bands of progressive rock, in my opinion. This place is reserved for Yes and Genesis !
All in all, I go for Pink Floyd here...

Neither.  Can't vote; will save it for whichever team is losing later

edit: by neither I mean both

This. The losing one will most likely be Floyd, though.

While I do like early Pink Floyd, I'm not a fan of later Pink Floyd.  With King Crimson, I like all of their eras.

The progressive one.

Exactly.
Sorry if you've already explained this in a previous thread, but can you tell me why Pink Floyd isn't progressive?  Personally, when I listen to albums like A Saucerful of Secrets, Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother and Meddle I can't see how you can call them anything but.  Even the "commercial" albums still have undeniable progressive tendencies.

So what's with the color scheme here?  It is either Pink or Crimson, both variants of red.  It would be interesting to see if this would have turned out differently if Yes won, or if the two symphonic giants were not pitted against one another when they were.  Alas, water under the bridge.  Neither of these bands are truly in the running for the top spot for me (Yes, Tull, Vangelis would be up there, but that's me).  As to my favorite of these two champions, that is hard to say, but I can say that I consider one of them to be the very image of progressiveness (although both are quite innovative).  So I must choose the true king over a fella named Floyd.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"

I read your post, it just made more sense to have the normal title.

Pink Floyd is more what to say, refined, they found their sound and exiled in it while King Crimson was sort of the schizoid prog band which did not really found any real base, prog nomads, while Floyd went out to the outer space Crimson went to different dimensions and wormholes,

Pink Floyd is like a pasta bolognaise, plain but delicious, while King Crimson is more like a shish kebab it is filled with loads of different vegetables, meat and spices and taste allot of different things, very exiting
