Let's match these line-ups:

DT vs DT... Tongue

BTBAM vs Beardfish - TIE

3 vs Zappa - 3

Opeth vs POS - TIE

Therefore, for just a hair, last year's line-up is better....

I may actually go this year, I'd absolutely love to see Pain of Salvation, Zappa Plays Zappa is a huge plus as well.  Dream Theater is obviously fantastic and I don't know Beardfish.

With that being said, if Pain of Salvation is limited to a 30 minute set then it becomes much less alluring for me.  Seriously, I want a full set of PoS if I'm going to make the trek cause I don't see them making it to Pittsburgh.

Has anyone heard what the times of sets are planned for this year?

Thanks,

DT vs DT...

BTBAM vs Beardfish - Beardfish....I enjoy alot of metal but BTBAM doesn't do it for me at all.  The last Beardfish album was AMAZING!

3 vs Zappa - 3, but only because I havn't heard much zappa

Opeth vs POS - TIE

I guarantee anyone who goes to see Zappa Plays Zappa will come out with a new appreciation for Frank's music.  They will be the best band there.

I'm not much into Dream Theater's music as I used to be. But Pain of Salvation and Zappa Plays Zappa? I'M THERE!
In heaven, everything is fine

Protest the Hero is a priority before this, Cannibal Corpse/The Faceless is a priority before this, OPETH/ENSLAVED is a much bigger priority before this. If this is in a seated place like Jones Beach (considering it will be summer) me and my friends will probably wait until Zappa Plays Zappa is just about done with their setlist before making our way in there Smile. I just hope it is.

I know Dream Theater is doing a European Tour before the American leg, so perhaps they may do something similar?

You're lucky though, prog bands tour Europe far more frequently than they do America.

Europe gets Opeth, Bigelf, and Unexpect.......unbelievable.....
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Hmmm, according to your comparison, it looks like it's a tie. But I'm sure you left out weights of some sort.

Anyhow, I definitely liked last year's line-up better. Opeth and BTBAM > PoS and Beardfish. I do love all of those bands, but I'm worried that PoS is going to play mostly Scarsick material.

Of course, the quality of the new DT songs would factor into this as well.

Agreed. With ZPZ and DT together at the same concert, let alone Beardfish, I need to see this. I'm not familiar with PoS though, but that doesn't matter to me.
