To answer both the original post and you, I've had many pedals in the last 20 years and my all-time favourite has to be the BOSS DD-20 GigaDelay...what an amazing pedal!! Fully feature laden, easy to operate and great sounding
![]() You can get all kind of echo-related sounds with it.
So Bornlivedie (I dig "Signify" too, by the way

The RC-20 Loop Station and Metal Zone distortion are my favorite Boss pedals. My overall favorite stompboxes are the Frostwave Resonator (MS-20 HP/LP filter clone) and Moogerfooger Ring Modulator. The green Line 6 delay pedal is pretty dope too.
![]() I felt the same way until I got into modular analog synthesizers; three-quarters of my effects chain nowadays consists of Blacet synth modules... Lots of spaghetti and plenty of tweakable knobs and switches! ![]() |

That's basically the same as an array of stopboxes in terms of what you have to do to set them up only a little more organised.
![]() I'd love to get some synth stuff to add to my guitar signal as it could help me produce even stranger sounds than I can already produce with my limited collection of effects which is comprised of a Boss DD3, a Danelectro Cool Cat, a Russian Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi, an Ibanez Tubescreamer and finally an Ibanez Weeping Demon wah with an Ebow on the side for extra strangeness. |

Can you put a guitar signal through those or do you have to use volt-per-octave signals? |

Yeah, the ease of setup is definitely a blessing. No more wall warts! Two other things I really like: the ease with which I can reconfigure my effects chain on the fly and the CV processing capabilities of many modules-- very few stompboxes (Moogerfooger, Frostwave, etc.) provide this kind of flexibility and sound-design capability.
You can run just about any audio signal directly into the synth via the I/O module. I've routed electric guitars, keyboards, SM57s, contact mics, circuit-bent toys, and portable radios through the I/O with no problems whatsoever. EDIT: Sorry, I don't mean to derail the thread. Now back to your BOSS pedal discussion... Edited by nightlamp - March 25 2008 at 15:56 |
