Definitively The Light and V are on the top. I like pretty much all their albums, except their last - Octane. Although it does have a few good tracks on it... But I'm overall disappointed with it.

I thought "V" was pretty good, but slightly overrated. That first song on there, "At The End Of The Day" is pretty awesome, but overall, I'd go with Snow, The Light or Kindness Of Strangers next.

For me the best 3 albums of them are, in this order, Beware of Darkness, Snow and V..... but the one in which i sense a similar sound to Beware of Darkness, is the Kindess of Strangers and The Light albums, make your choice.

The Kindness of Strangers is my favourite SB album. For something similar but imo better, try "Glass Hammer" . They are awesome

If you do more research, there is one episode where Spock has a beard. The beard was used to identify the Evil Spock from the Good Spock... I presume that's what they refer to

The beard was absent from Spock as is the talent from the band. I would say none of the albums are good.

All kidding aside start with the debut and work chronologically while avoiding the third album (Kindness of strangers).
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer

I started with the kindness of strangers, but would go with The Light as your next choice. I would save thier epic "Snow" until you are very comfortable with the band.
