Only 10 ? That's not fair !!!  I'd want to have all my personal favourites, which include :

Close to the Edge -Yes
Selling England - Genesis
The Yes Album - Yes
Fragile - Yes
Foxtrot - Genesis
Wish you were Here - Pink Floyd
Tarkus - ELP
Thick as a Brick - Jethro Tull
For Girls who Grow Plump – Caravan
Relayer - Yes

But then what do I do with Yessongs, In the Court of the Crimson King, Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Nursery Cryme, A Trick of the Tail, Crime of the Century, and a whole host of other fine albums, too numerous to mention here ? T’would indeed be a hard choice to make !

Possibly back in his ECM days, but I've never really heard a similarity. Then again, I don't have a sharp ear for that, so it could very well be.

I've been a Metheny fan for about 20 years now. Saw him a couple of times at the old KC Blues & Jazz Fest (amazing shows). I still need to get This Way Up, but his stuff is brilliant (For the most part. We Live Here and Quartet are spotty).

He's from around Kansas City, too. Couple of his songs are about areas in and around KC. "River Quay" is in reference to the river market area here in town (used to be mob owned, but a pretty stylish area now), and "Lone Jack" is a small town just east of his hometown of Lee's Summit, MO.

Favorites (besides LFH):
Still Life (Talking)
As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls
Beyond The Missouri Sky (w/ Charlie Haden)
First Circle

Good to see more Metheny fans here.

I didn't think there were any Pat fans here. He is probably one of the fav. guitarists. Saw him live in NY 2 years ago also, and as great as he is in the studio, he's even better live.
