My CD collection has swollen to about 250 CD's.  I also bought a sh*tload of vinyl while in Seattle...all the Rush I could find.  One of them (the vinyl version of Exit...Stage Left) was...

Not that big, as I've only a couple dozen artists in my collection, but probably over 300 CDs and DVDs, mostly Rush, Yes, Genesis, and Dream Theater. I have a lot of complete studio discopgrahies, though (Spock's Beard, Flower Kings, Ayreon, Tiles, and King Crimson), and I'm working to complete some others (Pink Floyd, of which I have Atom Heart Mother to Division Bell, and Porcupine Tree to name a couple).

It's a growing collection, and about all the money I've spent in the last 3-4 years has been spent on my CDs. Damn my completionism... I love it though. I've been listening to music a LOT more lately.

I would say upwards of 3,000 LPs collected since about 1973. I still buy them but they`re getting to be riduculously expensive. I`m probably up to about 300 CDs & DVDs and I`ve even got some 8 tracks! talk about living in the age of the dinosaur! Wacko

Not big enough as well, then again, with tax included, most prog cds are either $25 to $30 because they are either imported, or can't be bought in great enough quantities like the latest chili peppers, or pearl jam stuff.

Even when buying on-line, the shipping can come to $10.

Because of this, most of my stuff is the Tull, Yes, Floyd etc which can be bought at reasonable prices and still have enough left over to pay the bills and not starve.

I don't know. 1000? More? Most of them are vinyl. Let's say it is five times more vinyls than cds.
But I'm inclined to get rid of some I don't care. I got lots of records that I don't like in packages of albuns.
Sometimes I feel my collection is growing unecessarily, because there are some I don't listen to more than 3 times.

I have just over 10,000 albums. About half on CD and half on vinyl.

I have around 45 CDs--the only non-prog are a few Zeppelin albums I have.

One thing that inhibits my insane purchasing is that some prog is so damn expensive. I'm sure Moonmadness, Per Un Amico, and Phallus Dei are wonderful albums--but I'm not going to pay $20 or more for a 40 minute CD! Even VdGG are starting to hurt; actually paying list price ($17) really hurts.

You can pick up those for as little as $4 on Ebay - at least Camel and VdGG. And in the last few weeks I bought some Italian Prog CDs via Caiman (shipped from North America) for around $10.

Caiman is pretty good for being on the cheap.. I had some problems with my first order... they stepped up and took care of it immediately.

I think I'm about to be done for now. I caught the last unknown item from when I was young (lost albums, I didn't knew the names, I listened on the radio years ago). Anyway, with the possible exception of a couple new bands (Project Vector), I think I'm moving on to Contemporary Symphonic music soon.
