Shame you put Gopher in the poll. A needless Walt disney addition.

Yes I'm a Winnie purist too but maybe Gopher might appeal to our American friends. That's what they put him in for anyway. Gopher's quite funny when he says "I'm not in the book and I'm a ding dang glad of it". That makes my daughter laugh when I say it.

Can you send us a clip of you saying it to your daughter?Wink

I tried it again and it's not funny any more. So either I've lost my touch, the joke has worn thin or she has developed a more sophisticated sense of humour. Yesterday, she was laughing at me kicking a ball around the kitchen so it can't be the latter.

The fact that I'm the first person to vote for Rabbit is a damning indictment of the power of Disney ... Milne's original Rabbit was way cool ... Disney's was a prissy precursor to C3P0
"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

I think Rabbit was a bit boring in the original book. I like Winnie more in the Disney versions - his facial expressions are very funny.

Huh! That's like saying Genesis wouldn't have been what they are without Peter Gabriel!
