Latinamericans!!!

I'm from Peru, a southamerican country whose coasts are washed by the pacific ocean. Just to get this staright, latin americans are those americans of latin descent namely who speak a romance language such as spanish, portuguese, french or italian. A latin american who speaks spanish is called hispanoamerican or hispanic for short (although by doing so you'd be including spanish as well). I'm not really sure if ethnic traits also determine the name. The northamericans will call any person of latinamerican origin a latino or hispanic even though the person was born in northamerica and speak english only.
