Anybody is complaining so...
Where's Petrucci???
Where's Latimer???
Poor poll. I chose the great Lifeson, follow by Gilmour. But a guitar prog poll without Petrucci and Latimer isn't a real guitarrist poll.

Poor Syd looked lonely without a vote...
Of course, he was a horrible guitarist...

No Hackett?!?! And also no Latimer or Petrucci. Sure, this is redundant,
but come on.

Definitely Fripp with Alex Lifeson second... Steve Howe would probably be third.

Steve Howe, then Gilmour, Lifeson and Barre. Hackett should have been there, though. Fripp and Zappa are both great, but I prefer a different approach.

Very close between Howe and Gilmour. For my taste David's guitar-play does a bit more for me, so I give him my vote.
But m.r.: Where is Hackett, Petrucci and Latimer on your list?

I agree that Andy Latimer and Steve Hackett should be included, but what about John McLoughlin? And Steve Vai has many prog dimensions, too. And don't leave out Todd Rundgren.

I chose LIFESON as well, but where's the great, underrated HACKETT?

The one and only Steve Howe.
Steve Hackett should be on the list and should get a lot of votes.

David Gilmour or Robert Fripp.....I always say Robert Fripp, because of
"Larks' Tongues In Aspic, Part I", or "Fracture", but then I'm reminded of
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Parts I-IV", "Dogs", and "Time"

I voted Howe...
I don't even like DT but Petrucci should have made the list, his solos floor me every time.
And as much as I love Tool, I would never say Adam Jones is the best prog guitarist, I mean I have been playing guitar less than a year and I have yet to come across an AJ riff I couldn't play... its mostly drop D power chords.

Well...out of that list I'd choose Steve Howe but I still think Hacket
(who of which is missing) is the best progressive-rock guitarist.
