Devin Townsend Project's Deconstruction just edges out Phideaux's Snowtorch from this list, two albums that I enjoy end to end and still listen to regularly.
Many other good releases on the list. I A Moon remains my favourite North Sea Radio Orchestra. Grace for Drowning has some pretty good moments. Leprous and PJ Harvey are also quite good, although I came to them after this year. Some other great albums from this year: Bent Knee - s/t - I don't see this one getting as much love as their later stuff, but honestly they started off strong right out the gate. Bjork - Biophilia - one of my top by her Bob Geldof - How To Compose Popular Songs that will Sell - An album of surprisingly well put together rock tracks that, I don't think, sold (the title comes form a book Sir Bob found at the library) Dave Willy & Friends - Immeasurable Currents - been a while since I listened to this one, but Thinking Plague adjacent poetic music Deerhoof - Deerhoof vs Evil - my intro to this wild band, and a very good album. A good demonstrate of how these guys merge the playful with the off kilter.
