your choice might be Animals, which I respect as it's a superb album....

but it's not obvious to many of us who have grown up adoring Xanadu and Cygnus....
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Many years ago I surely would have chosen Animals. Now, I'd rather hear the creative Rush outing over the beginning of the Waters descent. Starting with Animals but much more so with Wall/Final, you can almost hear the others pulling away, becoming less emotionally invested than they used to be. Still very professional, obviously, but the enthusiasm of ascent and band dynamics teamwork you can feel on Farewell to Kings is slowly draining out of the Floyd by this point.

Maybe to you….

More of a Floyd fan, but I’ve never really got Animals, and AFTK is from the classic Rush period….

Animals - even tho it's by no means my favourite Floydian oeuvre.
Is it any wonder that the monkey's confused?

Chimpanzees are.

No man. Chimpanzees are underrated and if you tell them they aren't they will rip your arm off. Trust me they are strong and they could. Wink

Good point to those 'umans that think chimps would be the mostly 'armless ones. They are strong and can be super viscous. Have seen them turn a monkey into sushi in no time at all. I would say it's a good thing that humans have nukes to deal with them, but they don't respond well to threats. A herd of navy seals could take out a congress of chimps, but only because chimps don't swim so well.
