Mike Oldfield (most everything from 1973 to 1984 I love) then it's patchy although Amarok and Songs Of Distant Earth as well as Return To Ommadawn are great. I can listen to a dozen Mike Oldfield albums quite happily while there's only about 2 Dream Theater albums I like that much (not the obvious ones!) and only one Moody Blues album I care for (A Question Of Balance). I don't know Nektar at all. Spock's Beard have about 4 or 5 albums I like a lot, especially Brief Nocturnes and Dreamless Sleep which is a masterpice imo but that's not enough to challenge Oldfield (although in terms of '3rd wave of prog' The Beard are a top band for sure)

An excellent assessment throughout, although I'm slightly less in love with either Platinum or Discovery while Side 2 or Crises is fairly wretched...  I probably have more of a soft spot for TB II & III than you do, however..
