I like all her folkier ballads (with strings), and some of her covers - such as You're No Good - as it's simply a well crafted, well performed pop tune. I wish she was a folk singer... and british:)

Like the Stone Poneys material? I don't think she used string until her work with Nelson Riddle.

I only know her covers; did she write and record anything? 
There's a string section in the first video I posted here, and the second one was a Stone Poneys song.

-You're No Good and Will You Love Me Tomorrow etc... were songs previously recorded by others - and later versions of already recorded songs is I think of as covers. But Linda had songs written for her that she was the first artist to record (such as Long, Long Time). I don't count those as covers.

My Dad was a fan of Linda Ronstadt even before I was and Different Drum was the first Linda Ronstadt song I ever heard, before discovering about 40 years later that it's actually credited to The Stone Poneys. Embarrassed

She looks and sounds great in this video - whoever she is. Tongue

Never much of a fan (though I did love her early work as a background vocalist), but I always enjoyed her three albums of old classics with Nelson Riddle. Otherwise, "Hurt So Good" was a mainstay for LOUD play during my college years.
