This my friends, is a correct answer.

I can't tell if this is a meme or people are serious. I don't f**king get the big deal. I'll stick to normal toasters, thank you. Although, I think I'm more annoyed at the name than anything else - air fryers don't actually fry food - it's a glorified toaster with a fan in it. Why is it called an air fryer, like why?

I am serious in that I use it almost every day. It's great to have when heating frozen foods - taquitos, samosas, fries, tater tots, single serving pizzas, Texas toast, hashbrowns, egg rolls, and so on. Yes, it's basically a convection oven. Air is used to circulate heat and oil, which you spray onto your food. This basically produces a Maillard reaction simulating you get when you deep fry. Not exactly the same but that is where the name comes from. The advantage of an air fryer over an oven is size and time it takes to heat up. It also emits less heat and uses less power. It's easy to use. It's a decent alternative to deep frying, which can get messy and is less healthy.

Now there are toaster oven sized convection ovens that are marketed as air fryers and I have been considering getting one of those.

It's definitely a favorite. I also use my electric pressure cooker and immersion circulator for sous vide frequently.

The smartphone is certainly up there. But it's only useful to me because of the Internet. I do most all social media, Web browsing, and music streaming through my phone.

You take that back right now. Air fryers are amazing. Besides, they don't really replace toasters, they replace frying pans and ovens. I live in a small apartment, so a frying pan would stink up the place, and I don't have space for an oven. So with an air fryer I can still eat small types of bread and croissants and such that normally would go in an oven, and I can still make fries and frikandellen and kroketten (very important if you're dutch like me). Even if I did have a regular frying pan and an oven, an air fryer is less messy/greasy (and slightly healthier I suppose) than a regular frying pan, and much faster than an oven.

The vacuum cleaner. Now I can stop picking up lint and hairs with my hands or my mouth.

I also second the wheel. I don't use it as much as I used to, unless I'm making socks or grilled cheese sandwiches.

Smart speakers are pretty cool as streaming music is a biggie. I also love my i-pod although streaming has replaced it for the most part. I could also add blue tooth but then it's all part of the same thing.

I'll second that but entire collection? How much storage do you have?

I have a custom built Classic with 365GB. My old 160GB version was ok but died and I decided to upscale.

I'll have to second Ian's thoughts, even though my unit only has 200GB.

Hi,

Probably computers ... nice to be able to write and not have to reinvent the whole thing but throwing away pages and pages of work.

I have not, used it as much for music or art itself to be able to tell you more ... but I do have my midi board and keyboard hooked up to a computer.

I wanted to say "sliced bread", but unfortunately it was around way before the internet!

I'd also add the Sony Playstation, which first went on sale in Europe and America in 1995, two years after the Internet was first made available to the general public.

Well...not really an invention but microbreweries became popular starting in earnest  in the late 80's /early 90's and I enjoy many kinds of 'craft beer.'

Thumbs Up

Now I want one of those air fryers.

-For me I don't know. Maybe the "Air source heat pump". I live in a cold place at wintertime, but with warm summers - when it can be used as an air condtioner. It's good for the indoor climate as it absorbs air for the outside and releases it inside. And it saves us a lot of money as well.

I agree as far as that I admire how so much technology is put in a volume that fits easily in a pocket, but nevertheless the smartphone is not on my list because of the harm this device has caused: people have become increasingly dependent on it and it has proved to be a powerful tool to push gibberish as the predominant writing language. Q.E.D.: I have more admiration for the museal gear that enabled Neil Armstrong to make his small step almost 54 years ago, lone before the Internet emerged.

Definitely ok. I'll enjoy its benefits next week, when I expect to visit my parents in law. The bitterballen, kipnuggets and small size kaassoufflé's are definitely fine.

And it is not only free, it gives you back control over your computer (and no, I'm not a computer geek, that's why I use Linux Mint).
I could join the eulogies for the Airfryer to...

Otherwise, fresh air is not bad either...

Does it really? I use Ubuntu for my work and I have experienced more than a few unwanted focus shifts from one program to another lately. The most annoying bug ever imo. For the remainder it's fine.

^ Well, compared to Windows (that is doing things you never asked for, and nagging you regularly when you don't want to be nagged...) it definitely does. Never experienced the problem you bring forward here, although Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu (but I'm not using the fancy cinnamon flavour, but the sober (boring?) Mate).
