The Mellotron is great, the moog is good too.
There was a thread recently about the mellotron, the instrument itself and great mellotron tracks.
Rick Wakeman used the mellotron a lot in 70's Yes and solo work - in
particular I'd mention And You and I, and The Remembering. Plus I know
he played keyboards on Bowie's "Space Odditty" and sounds like a
mellotron in there...

I dicovered mellotron just when I started to listen PROG!!!

Moog Synth, Cello, Flute, Recorder, Xylophone, Theremin ... One of those is proggier than the mellotron...

Gryphon's Krumhorn or Bassoon is without a doubt one of the most original and Proggish sounding intsruments.

Not exactly sure which song (altho i think it may be Black Cat) it is on Acquiring the Taste.
