Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Lazland's album reviews for Mostly Autumn. I'll take a look.

The first review of yours I ever read (today, on Steve G's recommendation) was your one-star review for King Crimson's Construkction of Light, because I wanted to read just how bad can a King Crimson album really be. Although I haven't listened to the album, I'll take your word for just how bad it is, if it's even worse than Larks' Tongues in Aspic. Construkction of Light is presumably so bad that King Crimson couldn't even spell the album title correctly. I'm sure I'd find myself in agreement with you if I dared to listen to the album. Thanks for a brief but entertaining review.

Who amongst Mostly Autumn fans can forget That Night in Leamington in 2010 when Heather Findlay gave her last live performance with the band.....

That was a fantastic show. So emotional too. The DVD is worth buying.

^ I totally agree. I'd love to get hold of the DVD, having seen several memorable songs from the concert on YouTube. Here's a few more.....

Actually, Paul, that review is not typical of my work. I wrote that review as a long-standing fan of KC’s work, and I think that Larks’s Tongue is superb BTW, but thoroughly fed up with the overly industrial and rather soulless feeling of that particular album. When I get around to reviewing Thrak, for example, it will be more sympathetic and in tune with what Fripp was trying to achieve. Music, to me, is all about the soul, the feeling it inspires. As this thread is about Mostly Autumn, the best one I can recommend is Dressed in Voices. What an album. I do not disagree with Tony (Hercules) much, but we respectfully agree to disagree about this fine piece of work, because, to these ears, that was a work of love.

If you're still in any doubt whether Mostly Autumn are good, then have a listen to "Porcupine Rain" from their very first album, For All We Shared (1998), where they sound like the new Pink Floyd. They've come a long way since then, and they're now approaching their 22nd autumn together.

Hi, But can't because PA does too many ELP, Genesis and Yes threads ... and admins are all over them with even more comments! Bands like this, BBT and some others, deserve a lot more attention these days, but will never get it with the current crop of faux pas "progressive" folks!

I'll second that. BTW Did I ever mention that I used to work with Iain Jennings? He's a really nice guy.

I don't know a whole lot about them but I don't think they are the new Pink Floyd. If anyone is it's probably this band called airbag.
