^ but he has changed a lot since then.
BTW: Master of Puppets is really a brilliant album ... every metal fan should be able to appreciate it.

1 good album doesn't make a band great... I Do enjoy songs like Welcome Home, but still... And Justice was also a digestible album bu the rest.... unmelodic, pointless shreding, Vocals that I hate (i love James's amercan "YEAAAAHH!!!!" ), A Drumer that maybe can play, but all his drumming sound the same, + the awfull metal pan produciton... Its a shame that Clive Burton died.. He was the only Good musician there...

Like Cert said ... they made 5 brilliant albums, which all influenced countless other metal bands. It's not just Master of Puppets, although that one stands out as their most flawless, perfect masterpiece.
- Kill 'em All: Wonderfull metal album ... with influences by Mustaine, and brilliant songs like Seek and DEstroy and Jump in the Fire.
- Am I Evil/Blitzkrieg (EP): Brilliant display of how NWOBHM can be enhanced.
- Ride the Lightning: Wow ... what an album. Creeping Death is a much more innovati ve song than Powerslave. Ride the Lightning, Fade to Black, Call of Cthulu: amazing.
- Master of Puppets: No comment necessary - masterpiece.
- And Justice for All: Groundbreaking song and video: One. This album was a blueprint for many Thrash bands in the years to come.
- The Black Album: Enter Sandman and the other hits from the albums were again ground breaking, this time in terms of how to write commercial, but intelligent metal. Not as progressive, but a wonderful album nonetheless.
(BTW: I could describe the Megadeth albums in a similar manner ... I like them fine. But they are not as ground breaking as the Metallica albums, that's all)

I really hope that's sarcasm. Megadeth all the way, "Rust In Peace" ranks up there with all my favourite prog albums. Constistancy is important to me, Megadeth have it and Metallica don't.

In this case I prefer progress over consistency.

Megadeth, really easy since I have never ever been into any Metallica... no offence though
