I agree - Thank You Scientist, Opeth and IZZ all brilliant. What I've heard of the new IQ sounds good and I'm still getting through the Pendragon 40 year box set.

Still some good things to come but it doesn't stack up with any of the last 5 years.

I agree. I'm having a heck of a time coming up with 20 I would consider AOTY candidates.

BTW, I'm surprised Tracteur is not on your shortlist.

It didn't grab me when I listened to it a couple of times, need to give it another spin.

I'm not complaining about 20019 one bit.

Two pages and no mention of Dream Theater yet!?!?

Trying to stick mostly with those not yet mentioned:

First and foremost, a new DT this year.  And while not every DT release is cause for celebration, this one sure as hell is.  Great album from start to finish.

The new Soen is also fantastic.

Very nice new release from Steve Hackett

Divisive though it may be, I'm a big fan of the new Tool album.

There is much coolness in the Waste of Space Orchestra's Syntheosis

I like Focus 11

I very much enjoy the new folk-prog of Hexvessel's release

+Jon Anderson, Alan Parsons, and all those other great albums already mentioned, and 2019 is indeed a pretty impressive year for prog.
