Again I am playing the Wobbler albums nonstop for the lats few days.

Their mixture of folk, prog, symphonic rock and world music is really uncanning.

The only (modern) bands I can think who are the same league (in my opinion) are Anekdoten, Beardfish and Uzva.

I would really love to hear more of these kind of retro-sounding bands.
Any suggestions? Not doomy, gloomy stuff, sorry. I like uplifting music.

I'm also a fan of Wobbler...haven't picked up the latest one yet....but definitely will.
Rites is my favorite of the three I have but the new one sounds awesome.

Kingsnake.....I'd also like to hear more bands in this style....and I guess we'll have to keep looking for them.

I heard about Anglagard and White Willow, but they sound too dark for me.

I really love Rikard Sjöblom's Gungfly. It's playful, melodic, symphonic and retro.
Not really like Wobbler, but close.

I like White Willow......but I think the earlier ones are the best...imho.
I own Anglagard albums....they don;t really remind me of Wobbler though...but there are some nice bits on their records.
Gungfly are new to me though I have sampled them on you tube....not sure what I think so far.

You might like Astra.....the Weirding and Dark Chord....they are a little darker but in the same ballpark.

Have you heard Moon Safari?  They are more Yes-ish but have a very positive upbeat message.

I would also recommend these....they all have Yes elements as well as other classic prog influences.
Druckfarben
Babylon
Mirthrandir
Cathedral

I have all of these except for Druckfarben....who sound a bit more modern...they remind me more of Spocks Beard..which is not a bad thing.
btw....Druckfarben have done covers of Yes, Genesis, and other classic bands live...see you tube

I will try them out.

it's not only the Yes-influences I like, but aswell the canterbury-feel.
Like I said earlier: rather playful than dark.

I will try Astra, I can remember I liked them 10 years ago.

I forgot about Cirrus Bay.

Beautiful, romantic, pastoral symphonic rock.
Not so busy and eclectic as Wobbler, but it fits the retro-sound I am looking for.
I am bit of a romantic type I guess.

Astra is great, but for another time, I guess. I need more dreamy music.

White Willow
Magic Pie

Pretty much all I've been listening to these days!
(And my daily dose of Neal Morse, of course...)
