Well, yes, Zeps were better. They're my favorite non-prog pand, with Purple close seond.
smoke on the water is good as a radio hit, but of course not their best. And I have the entire discography

Someone adding Deep Purple to progarchives is scary enough

But they added Deep Purple under CANTERBURY SCENE

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

abstaining for a bit, but no love for early Purples contribution to the fledging prog movement? Obviously they changed in hard rock/metal pick your poison, but is not the site, partially at least, supposed to educate? Playing Devil's advocate here, obviously popular opinion is against them.

no you didn't , and I have to say I didn't hear a bit of psychedelic on the album 'Concerto for Group and Orchestra' (1969) and they had some real progressive gems like the self titled album from 69 as well.

Deep Purple in not prog and never was!
Listen in the 70`s every rock band improvised on the stage that was how the main part of the rock show, but that doesn`t mean that all 70`s bands were prog! In the name of god stop this madness, there already is lobbing about Led Zeppelin and The Doors but they aren`t prog too! I have all the best DP and LZ CD`s and I can`t find any connections to prog IT`S PURE HARD ROCK

I'm confused, I don't know how to vote. The question is "Should they stay or should they go?"

If I vote Yes, am I voting they should stay or they should go?
