Not quite amusing, but there is a very small hamlet near me called
New Zealand and yes, we have tried to acquire the sign.
There's a town in Essex called Fingrinhoe.
And there is Come Down I believe, near Weymouth.

One of my favourite English place names is actually pronounced "Marzel", but it's spelt;
But I'm also keen on;
...and Dorset is packed with amusing place names - although Queen Victoria renamed some of them.

I used to live in a place called Upper Thong (it was near both Nether Thong and Thongsbridge...)
They in turn are only about 20 miles away from Penistone (boringly pronounced Pennistun), but it still amuses visitors....
