I know - I hate to think of who is next :,(. I discovered Yes last year, almost a year after Peter Banks had died. I was originally dismissive of his time with Yes (the first two tracks off the debut album were so boring I shut it off.), but after listening to the first two again, there were latents hints of what was to come, like that big f@ing bassline from Survival, or the songs Astral Traveller, Then and Time and a Word. It's sad, but ultimately Steve Howe was better for the band; still death is hard to deal with, even if you didn't know the guy. When I heard the news about Squire, I was GUTTED. I had heard he was ill, but like many fans, I was convinced that with prayer, love, hope, and treatment he would get better and come back after the tour. Now he's touring in heaven with Pete Banks and all the other musicians who passed away too soon. RIP Chris, and I'm so sorry I never got to see you live.

If you have been doubtful about the two Yes albums with Peter Banks because they sound boring... well, of course, first I would say you should give it a chance. But mainly, perhaps you would want to give Flash a chance... at least the first album, that one besides having Peter Banks, also has Tony Kaye, and it's anything but boring. |

I love those first 2 Yes albums. Nothing inherently wrong with them, just, perhaps amateur in nature, but still beyond capabilities of many around that time.
