Let us not lose perspective of the guidance that the man himself is giving us.-
"So Thank you SO much for being there with me, for the Ocean of Love and Now, importantly, Thank you for starting the process of letting go of me, of mourning then transforming and celebrating this death coming up - this is how you can contribute, this would be a great gift from those emotionally and spiritually involved with me."

Let us hold Daevid in our hearts and thoughts, he is traveling down a path that we shall all visit someday....my wish is that he has a peaceful passing when the time comes. I don't blame him for wanting to turn off the machines and surgeons.
Thank you, Master Builder!

As much as I adore his work with Gong, this album (which the following track is from) is one of the most precious CD's in my collection:
http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=14013 An essential ambient/electronic release, snap up the CD if you can still find a copy. |

An eternal genius, even in his departure from the physical world he manages to keep his grace and uniqueness. When he came to Tel Aviv a few years ago I was only 15 or 16 and seeing a 70 something year old jumping and running around even more than I was made me feel like he was going to keep at it forever. Sadly he too is apparently human. Much love to you Daevid.

His latest musical offering makes so much more sense to me. Him saying See You and his last words Thank You before setting off into the ether with Shakti Yoni.
Profound.

Truly sad news.
Missed Gong when they played here recently, and now I'll probably never get to see them.

Wise Man In Your Heart...
Hey, Daevid. I'm so glad our paths crossed in Santa Barbara. Thank you for coming over to my humble SPACE PIRATE RADIO home. Can we sit on the floor and drink white wine again in the future? There is much to talk about and the laughter was good. ( So was the wine... I'll play host again ) Love and Giggles... and Thank you. guy de fromage . :)

truly one of the more inspired visionaries of the last hundred years. I shall be sad to see him go but I am glad he is peaceful about the whole thing. In the end, it is only Daevid's body that is dying, we all know you can kill his body but you can't kill him. Soon enough, we'll be seeing, being and dreaming him yet again.
I just hope there is some kind of awesome tribute Gong festival for this, or if not I shall organize one someday. At the least, I feel inspired to create some kind of tribute work to him and Planet Gong of my own.

From the Traverses webzine (in French):
http://www.rythmes-croises.org/traversesmag/modules/news/article.php?storyid=577 It appears that Daevid Allen's condition is getting worse and that his family is talking about not months, but days... |
