My friend's in northern Ohio, so I guess that's why he didn't mention it.

At least I don't feel totally f**king depressed anymore. The sad thing is that the main provider of electricity in the area had sent about half of their people to help out in Texas...after they even found out the storm was going to hit us here several hundred miles away, and I had been told that we probably wouldn't have power for about another 48 hours. Meanwhile, in the parts of the area that still had power and things such as gas stations, restaurants, and groceries, it was a madhouse. People were acting like we'd been hit by terrorists and all the food and gas was going to run out. Oh well, at least I don't have to deal w/ that bullsh*t anymore. We managed to get a generator that kept our refrigerated food cold and the lights on. So in the end, my family was somewhat lucky.

Yeah, from what I've heard, Cleveland got hit worse than Cincinnati and the further up north it goes in Ohio the worse it got apparently. I'm just glad that I made it through the past 30 hours without losing my sanity. Plus there's still about half a million residences out of the original 700,000 that still don't have power.

Hell, I was more surprised that we could get hit by a hurricane this far inland. And I used to think Ohio was far enough away from the Atlantic.LOL Seriously though I doubt that this ever happens again.

There wasn't much to do in my spare time other than read and listen to a little music, but even then I just didn't feel in the mood to listen to music. The thought of 1.5 million people in this area surviving the first night on candles and flashlights kinda got me bummed out. Although in that time I managed to get through a Second World War book on D-Day that was over 600 pages long. Although other than those two things there really wasn't much to do.

Oh okay.
If I don't feel in the mood to listen to music, that usually means I feel beyond terrible.
Geezus, 1.5 million without power, nasty.

And it's in a tri-state area of about 1.7 million people too.

Damn man.
Melbourne never seems particularly prone to extreme weather. It always seems to happen in other state capital cities, except MelbourneConfused My biggest fear of living in America (apart from just living there itselfLOL), I dunno, it's that crazy weather things that happen every couple of years.

I must have been extremely lucky, seeing and hearing all of the other stuff that's been going on around me. We didn't lose any power. Shocked
