Not purchases, gifts as it is my birthday today!

The prices were left on to show the condition of the record next to them. The King Crimson is a 1970 second pressing in excellent condition!

And as treats to myself I bought 'Recycled' by Nektar on LP and 'Hosono House' by Haruomi Hosono on CD.

Music Collectors Show today ... picked up the following:

Neil Young - Harvest Moon
Rhapsody - Tales from the Emerald Sword Saga
Sonic Youth - Dirty
Frank Zappa - Apostrophe/Overnight Senstation (on one disc, not sure if it's legit or some russian bootleg or something, but, $5, when most Zappa stuff is $20+, sounds good to me)
Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks
Moody Blues - Days of Future Passed
The Smiths - Queen is Dead
Tom Waits - Nighthawks at the Diner
Tom Waits - Heartattack and Vine
Savatage - The Wake of Magellan
Don Caballero - Don Caballero 2 (Promo CD)
Talking Heads - Naked

Part of me is wondering why I bother going to these things when the most exciting stuff I see is more Tom Waits, Neil Young, and Talking Heads. Although the $5 Zappa discs were a nice surprise this time, and the Don Caballero was a nice unexpected find. I'll probably go to the next one and just clean out the Zappa.

As any geologist will tell you, gleaming jewels can be found in fields of sh*t.  That's why I keep going back to the cheapo used bins at The Exchange (NE Ohio chain).  Not too long ago I found (for example) Don Cab's World Class Listening Problem for $2.50, and once in awhile I find something like Opeth's Morningrise or Colosseum's Daughter Of Time for a buck.

It's on its way. I'll write a review of it when I've listened to it a few times.

It is a bit disappointing that the shift in my hometown is almost to exclusively vinyl ... I know a lot of people like them, but I'm still a CD guy, and the guy with all the Dylan, Waits, Young and Zappa was the only guy this time with a considerable CD selection. Still - I won't give up!

Anyways, for the first time in quite a while I have spare music money that is not reserved for an upcoming music shopping event, so I got to catch up a bit on my wish list:

Volcano The Bear - Golden Rhythm/Ink Music
Alamaailman Vasarat - Huuro Koiko
Deerhoof - Deerhoof vs. Evil
Comus - Out of the Coma
Tom Cochrane - Songs of a Circling Spirit
Idiot Flesh - The Nothing Show (there was 1 seller on amazon with this so I snagged it, a bit pricey but not too bad for an out of print album of this quality)

From Best Buy with love:

The Whitney and Stevie records are for my mother ... for Mother's Day ... sh-h-h-h-h-h-h ...

Tull is for me. Since I like the album and the bonus is not too shabby, I'm a bit glad I paid full price for this. Now, I would have bought TAAB2, but I don't know if I want to buy that one.
