Black and Blue live, 1980.....Ronnie and Vinnie arrive.
...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

re: Wolflight: It's not bad but also not stellar. Perhaps safe. It's very much in the vein of recent (since Darktown) Hackett. At this stage of the game, I don't think it's much better than things like Out Of Tunnel's Mouth or Beyond the Shrouded Horizon (And not as good as To Wach The Storms or Wild Orchids), but it's a well made/constructed/performed album.

Pretty much how it effected me. He's obviously a stellar player but he doesn't seem to be going anywhere, a lack of progression perhaps ?  I must go and have a llisten to Storms and Orchids.

Well, I've never really cared about artists changing it up just for the sake of changing it up, but I just don't think these recent few have been as good as he has written before. I'll still buy his next album though (whenever that will be). Tongue

And do!

Agreed but it seems to me he's been sitting still for some time now. I don't mean a complete overhaul but any crative soul needs to avoid stagnation. It's been a while since I last listened to Storm It is certainly one of his best.

True. Though if he gave me 7 TWTS I wouldn't complain. Tongue

Six would be my limit. Tongue

That's fair. Tongue

Loaded with guitar riffs (and slide), heavy bass and drums and seventies hard rock vocals.
What else could you ask for? Wink
They are from Iowa, USA.

Edit - The vocals sound seventies but the album was released in 2009.

I'd say it's a step up from "One, One, One", albeit not a gigantic one. It's more adventurous, I feel, but still very much in the same vein as their last one, sadly. I wish they'd return to the style of their earlier albums, like "In the Kingdom..." and "Grindstone", or at least develop the blackjazz thang a bit more, showing a bit more ambition, but they're happy to continue down this too conventional (for my taste at least) metal road, at least for now, it seems.

That's a shame. I was hoping OOO would be a one stop detour...seems it's not the case. I found one song on youtube that I'll listen to later, but it sounds like this release is not for me.
