Jazz Fusion is probably in the bottom five jazz sub-genres. It has some plenty awesome stuff, sure, but it just can't compete with free jazz, avant-garde jazz, bop, hard bop, cool jazz, modal jazz, or hardcore surf noise jazz rock core.

Opposite for me. I'm a very big Holdsworth fan (well, I do play guitar, so that's sorta a given... maybe).

Oh come on. Nothing in jazz fusion comes anywhere close to even thinking about maybe potentially if it were ten times better touching John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, John Zorn, Hank Mobley, etc.

I just really love the sound of fusion to be honest. It's always done it for me more than other yazz genres.

Fusion rules. Perhaps not as hard as bebop, but still pretty hard.

I hear that if you can play Fracture, you automatically win at guitar.

This.
What's your favorite 70s crim record, Jake?

Probably SABB, because Fracture is the greatest thing ever and Night Watch and Trio are close, but Red and Larks Tongues come damn close. Actually, can I pick Great Deceiver? I'll go with that one if it's eligible.

Nah, studio only.
SABB>Larks>Red
Why is the title track to SABB so consistently underrated. It's only the tiniest of notches below Fracture.
