You couldn't make it up - but Richard Littlejohn could, and almost certainly did Angry.

Well you know what they say: An Englishman's home is his castle.  Got to go, I think one of the servants just fell in the moat.Wink
When people get lost in thought it's often because it's unfamiliar territory.

The houses might look nice, but as you can probably tell you simply can't find the staff these days.

Sunday afternoon movies... [wistful expression] The Cruel Sea, A Night To Remember, The Dambusters, or anything with Alastair Sim... followed by Sing Something Simple on the radiogram, bathtime & last minute homework panic.

Actually had quite a good day yesterday in the end - got home about 11, did a few bits around the house until Vicky got home around 1, had a spot of lunch then a walk through the snow storm to the pub for a couple of beers.

It seemed everyone who could be was out in the snow yesterday - everyone with children were either building snowmen, sledging or just generally having fun & everyone was in a great mood.

On the way back from the pub we were within 100 yards of home when we met a cuople of friends who were on their way to the pub... so we did a 180 & went back (such willpower)

+++

Before I forget & to get in before Vicky posts it... this morning I could not get the car doors open due to freezing; I tried de-icer, pushing & pulling, everything

Except unlocking them...

I was sure I'd unlocked them, honest...

It was interesting to watch Vicky simultaneously chipping ice off the windscreen & laughing so hard I was expecting her to wet herself...

I would have been making yellow snow if I'd seen that! ha ha ha!

Reminds me of the time when we got locked out the car, I was about 6, my mum spent a swearing hour with a coat hanger trying to "lift the knob" to unlock the car......... to no avail, we then waited 2 hours for the AA, to discover the back doors were in fact unlocked!   A story that still gets told with regularity at family get togethers!

Well you might be reminded of it next time we gather at the Coal Hole - speaking of which...

You will be pleased to know that it's snowing again here... The incredible thing is that these past two days the weather was GORGEOUS, sunny and warm (high temps in the high 50s at least). Of course it was expected, and I've seen the weather change suddenly in Europe too - but never as it does here. Anyway, snow showers are expected for the next couple of days, though I'm not sure it will actually stick as it did last week.
