< ="utf-8">
I just discovered a new record store in my city Big smile. It's less than an hour bike ride away, making it one of the closest ones to me. I'm not familiar with the neighbourhood and my first thoughts were that it was kind of sketch and I probably wouldn't return.

The store didn't look that great from the outside even, chipped paint and old wood in an old building. It was neat that one of the walls was open - looks like the building was a garage before they put a record store inside. Felt summery inside but a lot of the CDs near the front felt dusty/rough (the cases, that is), probably because of dirt flying in.

Still, after browsing around I found the selection of CDs and vinyls (old and new) both quite good, more in the old stuff than the new stuff, and the stuff that wasn't right by the front wasn't as effected by the dirt being blown in.

ended up picking up some Zappa and Manfred Mann's Earth Band on CD, and on vinyl I found Yes' debut. I also picked up some classical music - including a great deal on a box set of Beethoven's Symphonies ($15) on vinyl, and a Mozart vinyl.

They also sell posters and old stereo equpiment (they specifically advertise that they like stereo equipment from, like, the '70s). There was also a listening station, with great headphones (need to find a pair like them, but I forgot to check the model!), I listened to the Yes to make sure it would sound right because there was a $6 version and a $12 version and I grabbed the $6 version. It did. The sign advertised that there was also a CD listening station but I could not find it.

ANYWAYS, 25 KM and $55 later, I have discovered a new music store and grown my collection some more. Great way to end a long weekend.
