I remember when he was on an inhuman streak. Then got to HR 499 and took 2 weeks for him to get a HIT.
Thank god hes not freezing up this time, at least right now.

LOL I take it back! He's been slowing down, in fact I forget the number they gave but hes currently in one of the worst streaks he's had.
Every tie I give the guy credit...

And I always "stick with your team no matter what" but it must be tough with the Pirates. Guy I know is always threatening to give up and go with another team, and I think he means it this time around

The Cards got lit up last night 18-4 and nothing from the Post Dispatch all day on their Facebook page about the game. All they are talking about is the need for a Third baseman.

Seems like he wont overtake Bonds any more for the HR crown. Doesn't matter, he's a roid boy as well.

Bonds 762
Aaron 755
Ruth 714
Mayes 660.......

The names MAYS.

Willie Mays.

How could anyone that does a baseball show not know the history of the game nor not know how to spell one of the Top 5 to ever play the game/

Alvarez walk off 3 run HR for the Buccos. Russell fires pitching coach and bench coach. The pitching coach firing was long overdue. I would like to see the Buccos hire Leo Mazzone.

Tampa Bay cane one out away from being no hit for the third time this year. Some nice defensive plays in the game.

My bad. Maybe he's only heard the name spoken and not seen it in print? Or maybe it's an honest mistake that people make every one in awhile?

It's ok. I just thought that it was strange for a Sports outlet to make that mistake. But then again he wasn't a Cardinal. I doubt if they would ever mispell Pujols or Musial.

He did not deserve the axe.  However, as the old cliche goes, ya can't fire the players.  Wak definitely had lost the team, but seriously I don't think he's to blame for the fact that they can't field, can't run the bases, can't hit.
Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

Damn, apparently the Reds and Cards had some serious trash talk go down. Won't repeat it since we're outside the JFF section LOL
Well forget bench clearing brawl, I think everyone involved both teams emptied onto that field!

The only person that cant be fired is the only. The GM should be accountable for trades made. Players can be traded or let go. Look at Milton Bradley.....why any team still thinks that he is a good pick up is beyond me.

I am wondering when Molina became the team leader of the Cards. Brandon Phillips is just plain stupid for allowing his comments to be printed, broadcast, etc. It's great that he dislikes the Cards and such but keep it to yourself or not just say it in front of a reporter.

Hmm, with Bradley I think it was a situation where the Cubs were desperate to get rid of a sucky player, and the M's were desperate to get rid of a sucky player (Silva), and misery loves company.  Silva's stats in 2009 for the M's are remarkably bad for a guy making what he was making (that's Bavasi's fault and another story).

Silva, 2009:  30 innings pitched!  8.6 ERA.  He's having a better year with the Cubs.  Realistically, Bradley is producing at about the level of Silva, so other than he tends to  be a distraction (which Silva was also capable of being) it ain't really a bad trade.  Baseball needs to get rid of the guaranteed contracts if any of this is ever going to change.
