Back on track again! I guess Sandy interrupted us.
80’s is right. Not eclectic.

No. And since none of you actually asked this very important question: It’s not listed on PA.

Not on PA at all. I checked the rules; they say nothing about that. But I think many prog fans like the band and the song.

I wouldn’t call them new wave, though they are listed on Wiki’s list of new wave bands (probably based on their earlier output). This song definitely deserves another label.

Our clues are: 80's, not exactly New Wave, has woodwinds/brass ... . Jesus what could that possibly be?
Does it also have synths?

Let me see … on this album they use: vocals, guitar, piano, Hammond, drums, bouzouki, saxophone, mandolin, harmonica, violin, bass, double bass, trumpet, flute, border horn, tambourine, congas, accordion and bells. No synths. They may have used synths on other recordings, though.

You really want this to be over soon, don't you?
Is it considered art-rock?

Back to geography (unless we've established the nationality on some other page, which I doubt we have): a Western European band?

I think most of us would agree on that.

So, in order to not confuse you: Yes, Western Europe (I’ve seen it described as Northern Europe, but that doesn’t make much sense to me).

Is the country west of the near-Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) or one of those countries ?

S$%t-the-mother-of-the-goat ... how could I forget about geography. I'm not gonna wait on the others and will get this over with, but let's see if there is someone who can beat me to it.
Is it one of those near-Baltic countries?

This is the only thing I can find that seems to fit: is it from an Elvis Costello album?
