So Matt, how's the metal thing going? I quit hearing Megadeth, I can't concentrate on the chapter of my novel... so... no music for the next hour...

4 Visions. Haven't heard it in a while now, but it's really great!

I've not heard it in ages either.  I have three of their albums.

You need to give Débile Menthol a listen.  They have their moments.  They also have made some terrible music. LOL

I have their first one which is a damn good album, but I haven't listened to that one in a while either.

Terrible in which way? LOL

The only metal I have is the Cloudkicker albums I've downloaded, I'm still downloading actually. I like this so far.

I will have to make up for it by listening to "Beginning: The Long March" on repeat for an hour.

Really? My friends who love them said I'd like them, and I can't deny enjoying the four or five tracks they've recommended so far

It is quite a shame that the Shred Room founder has such a high level of negative shred cred.

If you don't like cats, please go awayEvil SmileLOL!

Anyway, I do believe Alex's cats and mine might come from the same source - very probably Japanese, since they seem to be specialized in taking pics of dressed-up cats (hence the murderous captionsLOL).

I'm just an old fart.  I borrowed Catch 33 from the library and I had to turn it off before it was over I thought that it was soooooooooooooooo horrible.  I listen to almost anything and I am not one to skip tracks but I could not stand another second of that album.

Nothing wrong with liking Merzbow.

But +5 for liking experimental/post metal?  What?

Never.

Most of it I don't like, personally.  Unless it's Agalloch.

Awesome so I have roughly +30 from Zappa, Zorn and Magma from the ZART side, about 50 from the post bands I like, and negative infinity from the roughly 25 discs I own which SW appears on

Have all of them. Catch 33 isn't a very good starting point really, I would rather go for Destroy Erase Improve or Chaosphere before trying that one as it's definitely their most challenging album listening-wise.

I just have negative infinity from all of my PT/SW owned discs.  No points in the positive categories.  Every time I like a band in Avant, James tells me it really isn't an avant band.
