To my knowledge they released a similar box for Angelo Branduardi (5 albums, of wich the classic 3 and 2 english versions): http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Music-Collection-Angelo-Branduardi/dp/B002CVQ8QK Edited by Andrea Cortese - December 03 2012 at 06:18 |

Thanks for the info!
Do you (or anyone else on here!) have any of those `Gli Anni '70' sets? If so, is there a particular volume you think that you would recommend first that has several good albums in it? |

I was thinking of getting that 6th volume, probably because it's got that Carlo Siliotto album you posted samples of earlier on! I do already have the wonderful Franco Falsini `Cold Nose' album from it, but only a vinyl reissue. Would be nice to have a CD of it too, though!
Thanks Andrea, I'll dig into those albums a little further and pick one or two of the sets! |

Ermanno De Biagi (L'Albero della Pazzia, 1979 ). Like this very much !
Michael, sometimes, on ebay, you can find a single album of the boxset for 7 or 10 USD.

Yes, Pierre, I'm going to do my research carefully before blindly buying anything! I also noticed the albums come in a single cardboard sleeve without lyrics, booklets and individual cases, which is a shame, but probably why they can keep the prices down a bit.
(I've previously bought those `5 discs in one box' Kansas, early Santana and Jethro Tull sets, they are packaged in the same way). |

Each CD sleeve is the reproduction of the original LP sleeve.

Yes, they actually frequently look quite nice! I thought they'd be lousy, but I was pretty impressed with the Kansas ones I got, and since then I find the `replica LP' covers quite charming!
Thanks everyone, I'm off to sleep for a few hours! Pierre, I'll check out that Toto Torquati album before I'm back too! |

Played this old friend today, what a wonderful album......on the avant side of things yet melodic and imaginative. And those lovely operatic vocals.
This is RPI my friends, don't be fooled by the "Folk" genre the band is under.

^^^ My fave numbers from Triade's album are Espressione and Caro Fratello.
The best one (IMHO) from the list posted by Pierre are Campo di Marte. One of my fave RPI bands ever!

Yes, Andrea, it is time that I speak a little of me. My avatar, for example. This black and white pictrue was taken in the summer 1967, in Frisco. I was living in America then. This night of July, I was sleeping near the ocean. Suddenly I felt a huge weight crushing me. A young man had not seen me in the dark and had sat on me. He was so sorry that I have forgiven him immediately. We talked all night until dawn. He was a charming.tall young man He took a polaroid of me, and then left me alone on the dock. The rest of the story is very sad. This young man named Otis was a great musician. He took a plane to give a concert, but this one crashed into Lake Monona Wisconsin. Just a few weeks later, his last song was released to radio and became very famous. Then I knew that he had not forgotten our night on the dock : SITTING ON THE DUCK OF THE BAY, WATCHING THE TIDE ROLL AWAY...

Man, that Toto Torquati album is so schizophrenic!! Some really bent and eclectic music on that one, tasteful and sophisticated one minute, then wild and chaotic the next, like it has an identity crisis! Me like! Thanks for sharing! |
