Austrian musician Paul Haslinger was a member of Tangerine Dream from 1986 thru' to 1990 and during his five years with the band, he recorded an incredible total of 19 albums, 8 of which were released after he'd already left Tangerine Dream. A lucrative career in Los Angeles beckoned, where the world was his lobster. He recorded an almost endless succession of scores for TV shows, video games and movie soundtracks in Hollywood, where the future looked so bright, he had to wear shades (especially in the dazzling Californian sunshine). By the way, if you really want to hear some amazing music, then skip all of the soundtracks and check out Exit Ghost II (2021), which is simply sublime! ....... And talking of exits, it's time for me to say "Auf Wiedersehen", until the next time.  Smile

I'm sorry to hear that. Broken Heart I saw Mark Shreeve play Live at the EMMA festival in Derby back in 1994. He was wearing a studded leather jacket at the concert, which reminded me a lot of Cozy Powell in his heyday.

I was listening to Fleet just now. Mark's solo albums remain my favorites, but I do love his collaborations.

This is positively fantastic.

1. System Six (12:19)
2. Storm Column (7:37)
3. Assassin (8:10)

Do you dig Michael Hoenig? I know David & HolyMoly certainly do as they recommended him to me, and I'm glad they did too! A former member of Agitation Free, German composer Michael Hoenig is the Tangerine Dream member who never was, having toured Australia with Tangerine Dream (as a replacement for Peter Baumann) in 1975, but never actually recording an album with the band. His outstanding debut album "Departure from the Northern Wasteland" (1977) has become a highly-regarded classic of the "Berlin School", which sounds like the best album Tangerine Dream never did. Smile

Message from the Transceiver:- Have you ever wondered what an Intriguing cross between Jean Michele Jarre, Ultravox and Tangerine Dream would sound like? No, me neither, but we're about to find out. Smile

I'm one of the weird ones who enjoys Hoenig's second solo album Xcept One more than his first. I first heard them in my cassette glory days. Both are classics. Clap

Xcept One turned out to be a much better album than I expected, bearing in mind it has a PA rating of just 2.0.. I enjoyed all of Michael Hoenig's albums except one: The Blob.
I came unstuck with that one. Tongue

Synergy (Larry Fast) is coming up next, just as soon as I've listened to all of his albums. Thumbs Up

Audion is my clear favourite amongst Larry Fast's eleven albums and it's also the only Synergy album I had on the original vinyl. I wasn't too keen on Computer Experiments, Vol. 1 in all honesty though. It was just too experimental for my tastes. Tongue

I didn't like Comp-Ex for a long time but one day it clicked, and I was able to appreciate it for what it is.

Are we nearly there yet? ..... Yes, we're on the Fast-track with Synergy before getting back on track with Tangerine Dream..... American-born Larry Fast is the man behind the sound of Synergy, having composed and performed all of the music himself, as well as being a self-described semi-conductor. Tongue

4 stars 1991: Canyon Dreams (soundtrack, recorded in 1986) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xKyBrS8ySo&t=11s

Well, we've finally arrived at the Grand Canyon, after taking a long detour along the way. Canyon Dreams is Tangerine Dream's 14th soundtrack and 40th album overall. The album was recorded back in 1986 when Tangerine Dream were still a trio consisting of Edgar Froese, Chris Franke & Paul Haslinger, before the latter two members of the band left to seek their dreams and fortunes scoring movie music in Hollywood. The scenic video for Canyon Dreams was shot in and around the spectacular Grand Canyon in Arizona and the music is inspired by the local native American Indian tribes, so why not be brave and give it a listen, as Tonto says Canyon Dreams is a heap good album. "Hi-Ho Silver away!" 4 stars 1991: Dead Solid Perfect (soundtrack, recorded in 1988) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nyr_kQhnfs

Anyone for golf? No, me neither. It drives me to tears and I get teed off every time I see it on TV, but don't let that putt you off as there's nothing below par about the superb soundtrack. This is Tangerine Dream's 15th movie score and their 41st album overall (for anyone who's still  keeping count). We've travelled a fair-way already in "Untangling the Tangram" of Tangerine Dream's vast discography and this is one of their best soundtracks so far, recorded back in 1988 by the duo of Edgar Froese & Paul Haslinger.  The movie stars Randy Quaid, Kathryn Harrold & Jack Warner and follows the life of a professional golfer on the PGA tour, although you'd have much more fun watching Caddyshack to be honest. Did you ever get to see T Dream in Nottingham, Paul?  I saw them at the Royal Concert Hall in 86.  I was conscious of their gig in 76 but I was too young to go.
