Hello ProgMetaller here I have to disagree with you, The Court in the Crimson King title track alone lifts me up and gives me a high, fabulous harmonies too!!!
Really, Sonia I've heard it about a million times and it doesn't strike me at all really, sorry

Hi,
I think that we have bad listening habits a lot more than we do in appreciating individuality in lyrics! To the point that we think that the top ten's lyrics are good, and Dream Theater, or anyone else's are bad!
There is no good or bad ... or great or poor ... there's just people and their expressions!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told! www.pedrosena.com
Lyrical content eh? Apart from Neal Morse's preaching most prog has adequate lyrical content and covers far more topics than typical pop - which is some geezer singing about some girls eyes and heart when he's really just interested in her tits and fanny......or some bint singing about how she's in love now she;s found out the size of his wallet.....
Gangsta rap is about shooting people...and country and western is about snakes with tits....running off with his best friend when he's trying to get the harvest in with a broken tractor......Or am I just being just to sterotypical ??
I DO hope you are joking.
I am currently digging:
Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!

See, the 118th reason for liking the majestic genre of fusion: for the most part the musicians keep their oral cavities shut and concentrate on their flutes 'n' lutes, so to speak.
(unless you prefer to spend your life trying to find the non-existing hidden messages in Siberian Khatru and Creator Has a Master Tape).
