I'm not too into wine, but good beer is indeed awesome. I mostly drink microbrewery beers though, so it gets expensive. But then again some people will buy two six packs of sh*tty lager and I get six to eight amazing ales, so I don't really care. I'm more of a quality > quantity person.

Belgian traditional beer is fantastic, and even if I normally hate sweet beer, I can't disagree with it being such an awesome thing. It's got nothing to do with normal beer, like it would come from a different planet. Also, unfiltered beer (is that how it's called) is also great (and I like it ).

I'm more into imperial stouts and dark ales myself. But also love some weissebier and some of the Belgian beers. Lambics are mostly too sweet though.

I made an imperial stout in college that was ridiculously tasty, and also could put you on your ass.
